BIOP

BIOP, The Canadian Conference on Industrial Bioproducts Innovation, aims to stimulate the economic development of this sector in Canada and in the world. The event will unveil new business opportunities in several fields of the industrial bioproduct industry, share successful organizational strategies and present new strategic tools that will contribute to the growth of industrial biotechnology private companies and organization.

The abundance of sources of biomass feedstock is an undeniable asset for Canada. With sound scientific basis within the country in the bioproduct and bioenergy sectors, this trend to use renewable resources as raw materials for industrial production will be increasing in the years to come. This new approach will reshape all industrial sectors and create new opportunities for growth and sustainable economic development for all the country’s regions

Materials available pursuant to the APIA event held on June 4, 2008 (French only)

On June 4th, 2008, the APIA held its second Forum on the main stakes in the Quebec Agri-food sector. Entitled L'innovation en lien avec l'agroalimentaire (Linking Innovation with Agri-food), the event featured several presentations by universities and college centers for the transfer of technologies highlighting their specialties and expertise. A representative from the National Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada presented on funding programs, our Director Francine Masson launched the two directories found on the Ressources section of this site, Benoît Montreuil of the Interuniversity Research Center on Enterprise Networks, Logistics and Transportation spoke on traceability and food safety. Josée Vincelette, Consultant, gave a presentation on the value chain.
